Web – It was decided that all items to be placed on the web will be sent to Matt Schaertl and he will forward on to Steve Southard. Web site Wild Water Derby is a cost of $6.00 per month, which the Chamber will pay to keep the name. Brenda has given Matt Schaertl the forms for the crafters/vendors to register for the Water Derby two-day event. These will be posted on the web.
Holiday Lighting Contest - Donna Williams, Sally Schaertl and Sharon Trimm took a ride to look at lights and turned in their suggestions. Members that are able will meet Wed 26th at McDonalds 7:00pm to finalize who the winners are.
Holiday Party - The date has been changed to January 12th and will be held at the Depot. Tickets are available $12.00 and $15.00 at the door from The Depot and Martha Doody.
It was decided to give Donna Williams & John Capron a plaque at the dinner for her many years of community service organizing the past annual Easter Egg Hunt.
Bottled Water - We have about 70 cases left. It was decided to sell the remaining cases for $5.00 a case. We will try to sell it to the school for the ball games and any remaining will be sold at the Derby in the spring.
Chamber Dinner - The Chamber dinner will be January 28th at St Dominic’s Parrish Center in Shortsville. There will be 200 tickets available for presale only at $25.00 each.
Letters of invitation will be sent to the surrounding Chambers. The Red Jacket Jazz Band will play during the cocktail hour. Guest Speaker will be someone from the $140,000,000 Lakefront project in Canandaigua.
Farmington Chamber – Matt Schaertl attended a meeting at the Farmington Chamber of Commerce and after seeing their Chamber newsletter thought this is something we may want to do. The gentleman that writes for them would be agreeable to do ours also. No decision was made at this time.
Water Derby - Estimated cost is $12000.00 and $5000.00 so far has been raised. Matt Schaertl sent E-mail to the Village of Shortsville again requesting that they enact a village permit for vendors. Trustee Fred Mink has put it on the agenda for the next village meeting the second Tuesday in January. Jim Kerns was also contacted as a possible emcee for the Saturday Littleville kayak / canoe races, the Barbeque Saturday night and the Derby on Sunday. The cost was discussed but no decision was made. Bruce Tunison and Lynn Fish’s teams are in place and ready for the Derby run. The school scholarship walkathon group has been contacted by Matt Schaertl to participate again this year. It was decided to do breakfast both days and use about the same quantities as last year for food.
Logo – President Tom Vanlaeken suggested we acquire a logo for the Chamber. It will be considered. - Sharon Trimm Secretary
